Weekly Roundup

I decided I would like to try something a little new with a sort of "weekly roundup" post, highlighting some interesting Marie Antoinette (/Versailles/18th Century/Related) news and posts from around the web.

News

• The official Chateau de Versailles website has posted the schedule for the events on their Versailles Festival for 2014.  The festival will include several nighttime events at the Orangerie, including the return of the popular masquerade ball; a variety of classical music performances throughout the chateau; and the return of the musical fountains shows.

 Tidbits and Treasures

• Recycled Movie Costumes posted about the coronation crown worn by Louis XVI in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette, which also made an appearance in the mini-series, The 10th Kingdom!
• Le Point has posted an incredible video of Marie Antoinette's wardrobe book  from 1782!
• Tiny-Librarian on tumblr has compiled some of the gorgeous illustrations by Sandra Suy which make the perfect companion to Bianca Turetsky's charming The Time-Traveling Fashionista by Marie Antoinette.
