Illustration: Moi & Marie Antoinette by Lynn Cullen

I'm a sucker for fun illustrations, which is why Moi & Marie Antoinette by Lynn Cullen is one of my favorite youth books about Marie Antoinette. This illustrated gem is told from the perspective of one of Marie Antoinette's dogs, who travels with her from Austria and laments the fact that both he and his mistress are not truly happy in their new home. The artwork is very colorful, very fun, and the story ends on a sweet note--though Cullen does provide an easy to understand description of the "rest of the story" in an author's note. If you haven't looked through this book at least once, you're definitely missing out!
